Welcome to The Curious Kiln, our paint + pottery studio!
We are beyond excited to bring a space for open-ended creativity to friends near and far!
When we engage in the act of creating we are more closely aligned with our core selves, our own creator, and who we were made to be. By offering a space where people can get their hands dirty, make something beautiful, or even make something ugly, we are doing our part to bring people closer to center, and to truly make the world a happier, calmer, and more beautiful place.
So make some plans to get creative, gift an "experience" this season, set up a date night, or just waltz on into our creative space to see what strikes your fancy!

Curious Kiln
Now Booking Private Parties
Curious Kiln parties happen in our private party space: The Revelry Room! Here, you'll have access to your own mini-fridge, countertop ice maker, high-quality Bluetooth speaker to play your favorite tunes, and don't forget: the artistic atmosphere! Our space will be so inviting, you won't even need to bring party decor; unless - of course - you want to!
The Revelry Room is great for smaller groups, and can seat 10-12 adults at tables for comfortable painting. For children's events, you can seat 10 painting participants.
In our space, you are always welcome to bring your own food, drinks, treats, and favors! We have no restrictions on food, and encourage you to celebrate and feed your guests based on your specific needs and preferences. Need help planning food, or advice on how to prepare? We've hosted hundreds of parties and we're happy to give you our best suggestions, from which pizza place delivers square pieces for kids, to who should cater your shower!
"Revelry Room" Reservation Fee is $75 non-refundable for private use of the space for a 2-hour window. Studio fees and pottery pieces balance will be paid on the date of event based on participation with a minimum of 6 painters. If less than 6 painters are expected, reserve a table in our open studio.
If you are interested in a full-service birthday party experience with a dedicated party host / paint attendant, or children's events geared towards attendees under the age of 8 (where parents might be inclined to stay for the duration), we require booking of a McHarper Manor private party with pottery programming. This option is suitable for hosting groups of up to 40 participants in the McHarper Manor Classroom space.

We're Tabitha and Tom, or just "The McHarpers"
We can’t wait to welcome you to The Curious Kiln, our warm and inviting paint + pottery studio, located in Miami Township (Milford, Ohio).
As huge lovers of art and nature, few things appeal to us more than clays, pigments, paints, glazes and inks!
Tabitha grew up around ceramics studios for most of her life, and Tom has been eager to learn! We can't wait to share it all with you soon!
Upon our soft opening, we'll begin to offer any-time “paint your own pottery” (traditional glazed and fired - or same day process) as well as “take-and-make” kits for any occasion. Choose from our stocked shelves of designer dishes, home decor, figurines, wood signs, pre-etched canvas, and fun seasonal favorites - then get to painting (or glazing!).
Spend time with the ones you love, or take yourself out for a self-care date! Our friendly staff will be there to welcome you and get you started on your artful endeavor. We hope to see you this fall!
